Termites in Kansas and Missouri
There are primarily two families of non-subterranean termites in the Kansas City and Midwest area.They are;
Dry-wood termites and Damp-wood or rotten wood termites.
Damp wood termites
Are physically the largest group of US termites and are most in need of termite and pest control through the Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas metroplex.
Subterranean termites
Are tiny pests that resemble ants and are often mistakenly called 'white ants.' Winged ants are hard to distinguish from winged termites becuase the termites in the KC area are seen swarming and in flight about the same time each year - usually in the spring but on occasion in the fall.
Because these termites operate through tunnels in the earth, in soil, in wood itself - carefully avoiding human detection - they can quietly infest and destroy your house's framing, flooring and timbers. Thorough annual inspections for termites - and other pests - conducted by Ed Milberger Pest Control can head off serious termite problems.
